8 Benefits of Being Bald

Many bald men are self-conscious. That's why the hair growth industry is growing every day. Men who lose their hair try to get it back. But that's not what we're about here.

We think baldness should be celebrated! This is why today, we want to talk about 8 benefits of shaving your head.

What are the benefits of being bald?

It shows high testosterone levels

The first reason it's better to be bald is that it shows you have high testosterone levels. Yep, men who use more testosterone are more likely to go bald.

In the male body, 10% of testosterone is converted into DHT, the type of testosterone we can use.

DHT can find its way into your hair follicles, which prevents said follicles from filling up with nutrients. Consequently, the hair will not get the nutrients it needs to grow, and it won't grow back.

The more DHT you produce, the more likely the hair follicles will fill up with it.

Testosterone is why men are more likely to go bald than women.

You save money

If you have hair, you will need to get it cut. And that takes both time and money. Firstly, let's look at the money.

On average, a man will spend $28 on a haircut. And, if he gets six haircuts a year, that's $168 throughout the year. From 20 to 40, he will have spent $3360 on haircuts. Imagine what he could have bought with that money! Cars, holidays, meals, clothes.

And that's not even including the cost of shampoo, hair gel, and other products.

If the average man spends 15 minutes, within one year, an hour and a half on his hair. In 20 years, that's 30 hours!

By not having hair, you're saving all the time and money it would usually take to get it cut and keep it stylish.

Women are attracted to bald men

Being attractive to women is a vital part of our lives for most men. Perhaps it's a specific woman, such as your wife, or maybe it's just women, in general.

But, did you know that despite what some men might think and some women might say, there is some evidence to suggest that bald men are more attractive than men with hair?

In one study, bald men were seen to be 6% more confident, 10% more masculine, 13% more dominant, 14% stronger, and 1 inch taller than men with all their hair.

When asked, "What do you think of bald or shaved head men?" an incredible 87% of women answered positively.

Clearly, women are not quite as fussed about hair as some of us think.

Bald men make more money

As well as women, money is another essential part of a man's life. Generally speaking, men like it when we make more money. Although this isn't an article about the benefits of being rich, I'm sure most of you would rather cry on a private jet than on a council estate.

According to one study from Hong Kong, 95% of men who earn more than $8900 a month complain about losing their hair.

But, only 35% of men on $640 a month have the same fear.

We know that correlation doesn't always mean causation, but it's still something to consider.

Fun fact! The profession with the most bald men is legal and accountancy. 1 in 5 men in this industry are bald.

So it seems that women and money are two significant advantages of baldness.

You're in good company

There are some incredible people with buckets of talent who are adored by the public- who happen to be bald. Let's take a look at some of them.

Jeff Bezos. The Amazon founder is one of the wealthiest men on the planet. His "Amazon" empire is worth billions! Now he's left Amazon and is focussing on going to the moon!

Dwayne Johnson. He might have started life as "The Rock" on WWE, but he has become one of Hollywood's most popular actors. From the Fast and Furious franchise to the Jumanji movies, Johnson is not the kind of guy you'd want to mess with.

Patrick Stewart. A British icon. The older folk reading this might know him as a Shakespearean actor. But, since then, he has become Professor X in the X-Men movies and Captain Picard in the Star Trek Franchise.

Sam L Jackson. An incredibly talented and successful actor. He's been in Pulp Fiction, Django Unchained, The Avengers, Kingsman: The Secret Service, and plenty of other movies.

One of the perks of being bald is that you get to look like these men.

You'll have to focus on your personality

So far, the benefits of being bald in this article have been very looks-focused. I'm sure we can all agree that personality matters far more than looks.

Surely most of us would rather spend the day with a man with long hair who happens to be lovely, than a bald man who's a complete douche.

This is why we want to discuss the next benefit of having no hair. You need to rely more on your personality.

Some men, particularly younger ones, are so focused on maintaining good hair that they neglect to focus on their personality.

But, when you're bald, you can't rely on your hair to act as the focal point for conversation. You need to think more about what you say and how you come across.

It looks great with a beard

Regarding beards, we generally like to stay neutral. But, even we must admit that bald with a beard is a great look.

We've already established that bald heads look more masculine. And, when they're grown properly, beards are also more masculine. So, put the two together and get the pinnacle of masculine excellence, bald with a beard!

Of course, having a beard is not quite as simple as not shaving. You also need to keep it properly trimmed and clean! But, if you want a rugged look that says, "I'm the man, but I still care about how I look", then growing a beard is an excellent choice.

You won't have to worry about hair loss anymore.

For many men, going bald can be a significant source of anxiety. They worry about whether they'll still be able to do all the same things and be the same person as when they had hair.

Typically, American men will spend $1 billion on not being bald anymore!

But, if you decide to go bald or embrace your baldness, all of that can be put aside.

Instead of worrying about your hair falling out, you can focus on becoming a better man. All that money you could spend on hair growth creams, why not spend it on beers with the boys, or books, or days out, or whatever it is you're interested in?
