Nick one peak sketch

WE are one peak

a bald community

1 out of 3 male adults in the UK experience male pattern baldness.

Some men do not care at all. Others, however, suffer during this journey even with depression.

Our mission is to:

Empower all individuals throughout their journey of balding to live at their peak with specialised bald care products and inspiring content.

Build a community and challenge how society approaches baldness.

We envision a world that all bald individuals will be confident and ready to embrace their peak.

My balding journey

Hello, my name is Nick, and this is my balding story. I am sure that you will find many similarities with
mine - as we can all see, the struggle is the same in the community.

My balding journey began around 15 years ago, in my early 20’s, when my straight mid-long hair started
thinning.
I didn’t pay so much attention in the beginning, thinking I will recover, but unfortunately it
didn’t. The problem continued and before long I was searching solutions through various
dermatologists. The solutions were the same as now: minoxidil, finasteride or hair transplant.
Finasteride was out from the start for me, as the potential side effects were completely outweighing any
hair growth benefit. Hair transplant was (and still is) too expensive and more sessions had to follow in
the long term. So, I started minoxidil. I saw some hair thickening after some time but nothing wow. I was
trying various haircuts to hide as much skin as possible, but nothing hides under the sun. I was on and
off on minoxidil for around 2 years until I took the decision to shave it completely.
It was a tough decision, but I didn’t have many options. It took a while to get used to the new identity
but after a while it was ok.
After a few months I tried again to grow some hair using minoxidil, but again after one year
approximately, I felt it was all in vain. I had more of a joke rather than hair.
So, I shaved them again and
since then I never went back.
In the beginning I used to trim my scalp but for more than 6 years now I prefer a wet shave so I can feel
it as smooth as possible. I started shaving with any product I could find but after some time I started
looking for more specialised ones. Better razors to avoid cuts, sensitive soap and balm to avoid
irritations and redness and some sensitive hydrating creams. My main focus or concern was to find
something sensitive enough for the thin layer of skin of our scalps.
It was quite hard to find something relevant though, as all available products were targeted for beard
shaving and face care. I was watching endless YT videos with product reviews but most of them were
available only in the US market. So, I ended up using the trial & error method when choosing products,
until I compromised with some that did the job ok but still not sufficient enough.

This is where the idea of One Peak was born, to offer bald people dedicated products for their needs,
make their bald care routine as fast as possible and make them feel safe & comfortable with their
choice. The extra benefit would be also the time saved from endless hours of searching the right
product. We did that for all of us!
Join us and embrace a bald new world! One Peak for all!
